The United States-Mexico Cultural and Educational Foundation (USMCEF) was founded on April 4, 1996 in Washington, D.C. as a 501 c.3. non-profit organization. It serves as the educational arm of the United States-Mexico Chamber of Commerce.
Since it's inception, the Foundation has been involved in numerous activities such as the Buen Vecino Internship Program, Border Energy Forums, Future Leaders of Irving, Cinco de Mayo Celebration, Fiesta Tecaliso Concert, Day of the Dead Festival, art exhibits, theatre presentations, environmental initiatives, and the development and implementation of government grants, and in 2021 we are hosting for the first time Olympic Day Irving-Las Colinas.
The mission of the USMCEF is to provide activities that promote an enhanced knowledge and understanding of the educational and cultural differences between the two countries in order to establish closer and stronger ties.
To educate individuals, businesses, and other lawful entities;
To increase and enhance communication, cooperation, knowledge, and understanding between the United States and Mexico;
To be an active participant in the development of closer relations between the United States and Mexico;
To sponsor, develop, and implement avariety of activities designed to enrich understanding and cooperation between the United States and Mexico, including educational internships, exchange programs, forums, dialogues, conferences, seminars, training programs, cultural activities, exhibits, awards and scholarship programs.
